Can Chrome Sidebar Auto-Expand on Hover and Hide When Mouse Leaves?
Chrome browser Side Panel API restriction prevents implementing hover-to-expand and auto-hide functionality. However, VertiTab's web sidebar supports this feature.
Chrome browser side panel cannot implement hover-to-expand and auto-hide-on-mouse-leave functionality.
This is a browser Side Panel API limitation that extensions cannot change.
Why Can't This Be Implemented?
Chrome Side Panel API does not allow extensions to:
- •Detect if mouse is hovering at browser edge
- •Programmatically open/close the side panel
- •Implement hover expand, leave hide interactions
This is a browser architecture design limitation.
